Charges laid - Iron Ore Company of Canada
CBC News has learned that the Iron Ore Company of Canada is facing charges relating to an industrial accident that happened two years ago. That’s when thirty eight year old Jamie Brace, a contractor working at IOC, was electrocuted .
Occupational health and safety investigated the accident , and charges were laid late last week.
Yesterday IOC sent a memo to it’s workers to inform them of the charges.
Reporter Mike Power spoke with Heather Bruce-Veitch, director of external relations with IOC, about the charges. and Ron thomas, President of local 5795 of the steelworkers at IOC.
