Minister of Justice - Innu confrontation

The minister of Justice in this province trusts his wildlife officers know what they’re doing when tracking down illegal hunters. Darin King made the remarks after our Peter Cowan broke details about the confrontation between officers and 20 Innu hunters earlier this month. It all happened on a lake 200 kilometres north of Sheshatshiu. Wildlife officers were dropped off by helicopter to put a stop to the hunters taking caribou, even though the hunters were reportedly throwing sticks at the helicopter. In the end one hunter was charged with assault. Here’s Minister of Justice Darin King speaking with the CBC Lee Pitts.
