Dealing with Natuashish Dogs

The SPCA in Happy Valley-Goose Bay and the Mushuau Innu band council are working together to reduce the number of roaming dogs in Natuashish, one plane load at a time. A boy was mauled by a dog in the community about two weeks ago.
As a result, the fire department sent out a letter to residents saying that all dogs found off leash would be killed.
The cull didn’t happen. But now the SPCA and the band council have a plan for dogs on the loose.
Labrador Morning’s John Gaudi spoke with the shelter’s Bonnie Learning about what is in the works.
