Hard Landing for Air Labrador

C-FOPN TWIN OTTER_01.jpg This Air Labrador Twin Otter experienced a hard landing in St. Anthony (photo:Air Labrador) It was a close call for an Air Labrador skedevac flight to St. Anthony yesterday. The Twin Otter made a hard landing upon touchdown, and ended up nose down in the sand on the side of the runway. There were no injuries to the 8 passengers and 2 crew on board. Labrador West Arts and Culture Centre - STAFF CUTS

If you try to get into the Labrador West arts and culture centre today you’re probably out of luck. The province’s new budget means big changes are coming. Yesterday afternoon, the doors to the centre were locked. To find out what’s happening, reporter Mike Power speaks with Terry French the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation. and, Peter McCormack’s been involved with drama in the area for several decades . Just last week, a play he directed was on stage at the centre. This morning he’s reeling from the news. Peter McCormack is on the phone with Tony Dawson.

Williams Harbour - Moving?

People living in Williams Harbour on Labrador’s South coast may be packing their bags.
In the new budget, the government said it’s offering people in isolated communities up to 270 thousand dollars to resettle in bigger towns.
That’s nearly three times the amount it gives out now.
George Russell is the Chairperson of the Local Service District in Williams Harbour. Our John Gaudi asked him what he thinks of the government’s latest offer.
