More trouble facing ADDA-Home
There’s more trouble to tell you about for a contracting company that owes tens of thousands of dollars to customers in western Labrador for unfinished work. CBC first told you about ADDA-Home in December, when several customers in Labrador City told us about their home renos they had paid for but hadn’t finished. ADDA-Home’s contractor and co-owner Bill Dormody promised the money would be paid back. But now, the company is facing more trouble - its been hit with a federal tax bill of more than $200-thousand dollars, on top of tax bills of $70 thousand dollars from last year. The company had increased a mortgage on its properties to $300-thousand dollars last year, and six weeks ago, included more properties as additional security. The developments don’t sit well with Michelle Sheaves, a home-owner in Labrador City who is waiting to get about $25-thousand dollars back from ADDA-Home. She spoke to the CBC’s Lee Pitts .
