School board - Defends "Not" Closing schools at minus 49 windchill

SCHOOL BUS.jpgToday, temperatures across Labador are back to what you’d expect for a typical winter’s day. But people in Labrador City are still bitter about what happened on Friday. Environment Canada reported temperatures that dipped to below -50 with windchill that morning. It also issued a wind chill warning for the extreme conditions. But schools remained open in Labrador City. Henry Windeler is the Education Director for the Labrador District School Board. He explains why. Jo-Ann Temple is a parent living in Labrador City.
