I O C fined for accident

A platform that was supposed to secured, wasn’t. It tipped and Eldon Perry died as a result of the accident. Joshua Hayse was seriously injured. Five charges were laid against the company. They pleaded guilty to three of them , the other two were dropped. Yesterday the company was fined three hundred and fifty thousand dollars.It is the largest fine given a company for such charges. The Perry family sat in by teleconference. After the decision, Mike Power spoke with Eldon Perrys son Steven Representatives of the Iron ore company of Canada sat in on the judgement yesterday , some by teleconference. The director of External relations , Heather Bruce-Veitch was in court in St.Johns. Also in court Ron Thomas President of the Steelworkers local 5795 .
