Home renos that were never finished
Michelle Sheaves and her husband Chris Vallis paid $40,000 for an in-law apartment to be built onto their house. All they got was a concrete foundation. (CBC ) Some people in western Labrador say they gave tens of thousands of dollars to a contracting company FOR work THAT was never finished. They were excited to see a new contractor in the area last spring because it’s often hard to find those companies to take on home-reno projects. But the excitement turned to anger when the contractor…ADDA-Home…took their money up-front, but left town without finishing the work. The CBC’s Lee Pitts has been digging into this for CBC Investigates and he joins Tony Dawsdon from our St. John’s studio.
