Concern for the Innu Language

Kanani Davis.jpg Kanani Davis Innu Aimun is in danger of disappearing in Sept-Iles. Only about 20 percent of young Innu are fluent in the language. One of the reasons why is that parents have been sending their kids to French speaking daycares. Across the border in Labrador, there are also concerns about the language. Kanani Davis is the Education Director for the school in Sheshatshiu. Labrador Morning’s John Gaudi asked her what the future of the language looks like there.
