Muskrat Falls - 7.4 billion
The cost of building a dam at Muskrat Falls and transmitting power to the island has grown by 24 per cent over the last two years. But the government insists it is still the best and cheapest way to meet the province’s future energy needs. The final cost estimates released yesterday show that the Muskrat Falls project is expected to cost 7.4-billion dollars to build. Our provincial affairs reporter David Cochrane has been on this story since the beginning. He’s joins Tony Dawson from our St. John’s studio. As well, reaction from labrador Affairs minister Nick McGrath and Nunatuakvut President Todd Russell.
