Trappers Receive Provincial Historic Recognition

TRAPPER STATUE.jpg Trapper Memorial in North West River Trapping defined life in Labrador for many generations. Now the people who trapped for a living have gotten provincial recognition. On Saturday “The Trapper” received a Provincial Historic Commemorations designation at a special ceremony in Grand Falls-Windsor. The commemoration honours aspects of our culture and history that are of provincial significance… And can include people, practices, places and events. Ernie McLean of Labrador Heritage Society nominated The Trapper for the historic commemoration. He joins Tony Dawson by telephone from Northwest River
