Miners Helping Minors... with Soccer!

It all started a year ago. The Iron Ore company of Canada versus Cliffs. One mining company against the other. It had nothing to do with the ore in the ground, but more with the turf that covered the soccer field in Labrador City. What started as a friendly soccer game has now become an annual competition. While IOC took home the trophy and the bragging rights last year, Cliffs are looking to take it this year. But regardless who wins on the field, the local minor soccer association will come away with the biggest prize. Mike Power went to the soccer field to meet Tony Reccord, the President of the Labrador West Minor Soccer Association.
