Fight Against Unsanctioned Nalcor Development Builds

Denise Cole Protesting Unsanctioned Development at Muskrat.jpgThe fate of Muskrat Falls is taking on new urgency as Nalcor clears the way for its hydroelectric project. Forests have been clear-cut for transmission lines and work on an access road is continuing at the site. And all of this is happening before the mega-project has even been sanctioned. A group called Friends of the Grand River is now focusing its energies on saving Muskrat Falls. That group hasn’t been very active recently, but organizers are planning to revive it. They held a meeting last night to select a new chair and board for the group. Denise Cole was selected as the chair, and she joins us in the studio.
