Northern Ranger Breaks Down Again, Disrupts Families, Businesses
Two days of frustration and delay for about 70 passengers of the Northern Ranger. The vessel developed serious problems with its main gearbox, which meant its trip north scheduled for Monday had to be cancelled. Our Peter Cowan went down to the dock to talk to some of the stranded passengers. We bring you that story. Also, late yesterday afternoon, CAI Nunatsiavut Marine was able to offer the stranded passengers some help. We speak with a member of their board of directors, and with Tom Faess. Mr. Faess owns Great Canadian Wildlife Adventures. He had four staff members and two thousand pounds of freight on the Ranger when it was pulled off the run.
