An In-depth Look at Solvent Abuse

Some teenagers in Natuashish complain that there is very little to keep them occupied. And that’s why they turn to sniffing gas. But other teens don’t go down this path. Earlier this week, our John Gaudi was in Natuashish, and he brings us a story from there. We’ll also delve into questions like how hazardous solvent abuse can be, and what kind of treatment is available. We’ll speak with the coordinator of the Youth Solvent Addiction Committee, and the Executive Director of the Walgwan Centre in the Gaspe region of Quebec. That centre has treated some of the young people from Natuashish.

Arena To Re-open in Happy Valley-Goose Bay

It took about six weeks, but work crews have finally removed all the mold from the E. J. Broomfield arena. But will the re-construction of the 50 year old facility be completed in time for all the winter activities ahead? The CBC’s Doug Greer put that question to town manager Wyman Jacques during a walk-through yesterday.
