Victim Tells What It Was Like Waiting for Attacker to be Arrested

For almost two weeks, Andrea Pardy has been living in fear. The Happy Valley-Goose Bay bartender was closing up the Sand Bar on August 16 when she was attacked and beaten without warning. Since the attack, Pardy has been afraid to live in her apartment, go to work or go outside. Now she’s feeling some relief. Police have arrested and charged 41 year old Sem Obed with the assault Obed also has a lengthy criminal history, with 20 convictions in Newfoundland and Labrador alone, as well as others in Nova Scotia. CBC reporter Peter Cowan spoke to Pardy about the arrest.
