From Fragile Minds to Heavy Equipment
She went from teaching in the classroom to operating the world’s biggest truck. Carrie Simms is a heavy equipment operator in Fort McMurray Alberta and is one of the few women driving a 20 foot high truck for 12 hours a day. But she never saw her life turning out this way. Her roots are in Happy Valley-Goose Bay where she always thought she’d be a nurse or a teacher. She joins Colleen Connors to speak about her career and life in Fort McMurray.
