Suicide Rates in Nunatsiavut

Last week, we told you about the latest mortality rates for young people in Canada. Inuit communities ranked almost five times higher than other parts of our country. We wanted to find out what that means for Nunatsiavut communities — and the numbers are high. The department of health says there have been 70 suicides in the last 15 years for young people 14 to 30 years old. To explain these numbers, we are joined now by Michelle Kinney She is the Deputy Minister of Nunatsiavut Department of Health and Social Development.
