Getting to the bottom of Lake Melville ....aboard the Nuliajuk
A crew of researchers is getting to know Labrador’s Lake Melville from the bottom up. They are onboard a ship called the Nuliajuk that’s been making Happy Valley-Goose Bay its port of call. They are mapping the basin using sophisticated sonar equipment. It’s part of a Memorial Univesity research program to understand how the Muskrat Falls hydroelectric dam will impact the area downstream. Labrador Morning’s John Gaudi dropped by the Nuliajuk ship to find out more.
