Oil and Water - The story of Lanier Phillips - On stage in Happy Valley Goose Bay
Oil and Water - Sunday June 23 at The O’Brien Arts Centre This Sunday, the story of Lanier Philips takes the stage at the O’Brien Arts Centre in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. He was the only African American to survive the shipwrecked USS Truxton off the coast of Newfoundland in 1942. The way he was treated by people in nearby St. Lawrence changed his life forever. Ryan Allen is playing Lanier Phillips in the play Oil and Water. And this morning we’ve reached him in Corner Brook.
