Another blow for the regional economic development boards

There’s more bad news for the province’s regional economic development boards. Last month, the federal government cut seventy-five percent of the boards’ budgets. The remaining twenty-five percent of their money comes from the province. Yesterday, the boards were informed that the Minister of Innovation, Business and Rural Development, Keith Hutchings is cutting his department’s support as well. Ted Lomond is the executive director of the Newfoundland and Labrador Regional Economic Development Association. Colleen Connors reached him in St.John’s.
