Labrador trough - Poised to be one of the worlds largest iron ore producing regions?

The past two years have seen dramatic changes in the iron mining industry in Labrador and Quebec. Mines are expanding, new ones are being developed, and some old abandoned ore deposits reworked. It’s mainly because of the Labrador Trough. It’s a rich body or ore that straddles the Quebec Labrador border, North to south. An online mining magazine Mining.com says that trough is going to turn the area into one of the worlds major iron ore producing regions. Labrador Morning’s Mike Power reached Journalist Cecilia Jamasmie at her office in Halifax to find out more about her article, and the online magazine.
