Parks Canada "Canada's Coolest School Trip" Contest - Rule changes could cost Nain
A Parks Canada contest had the whole community of Nain rooting for a group of grade 8 students. The 13 year olds wrote, acted in and edited their own short film telling the history of the Inuit in Torngat Mountains National Park. It is up against dozens of other videos…and the top prize is a class trip to Banff. Until a week ago, the school in Nain was near the top of the pack with over 2-thousand votes. But Parks Canada says it discovered a loophole in the contest…and reset all votes to zero. It’s also changed the contest rules. As you can imagine, the students in Nain aren’t happy. To find out why…..Colleen called Brianna Brown…She worked on the video, and Parks Canada spokesperson Ellen Bertrand.
