Quebec Biologist on the Quebec governments decision to shut down the sports hunt
The George River caribou has seen a massive decline in recent years. It’s gone from over a million animals to less than a hundred thousand. Recently the Quebec government announced it is closing the sport hunt of the herd next year. Biologists, including Steeve Cote at the University of Laval have done a lot of research into the herd. Labrador Morning’s Mike Power reached Cote in Quebec City.
