A labour of love...Garmel Rich's love of grasswork nominated for Art Council's Hall of Honour Award

Garmel 2012.jpg Garmel Rich grassworks.PNG73-year-old Garmel Rich is a well known grass sewer in Labrador. Originally from Bluff Head on the North Coast, her exquisite work can be found in collections around the world. This year, Rich has been nominated for the Newfoundland and Labrador Art Council’s Hall of Honour Award. The award recognizes an artist’s life-time contribution to the cultural life of the province. Labrador Morning’s John Gaudi visited Garmel Rich in Happy Valley-Goose Bay to speak with her about her work.
