A sad ending to a search for a 14 year old Makkovik teenager.

(Facebook) Makkovik search_03.jpgThere’s a tragic end to story of the lost snowmobiler in Makkovik. Police found the the body of 14 year old Burton Winters on Wednesday after ground and air rescue teams searched for him. They say his body was found showing signs of hypothermia. Barry Andersen was on the helicopter that found the teen. He’s also a community constable with the Makkovik Inuit Community Government. He spoke with the C-B-C’s Beth Macdonell. Beth also speaks with Makkovik RCMP Corporal Kimball Vardy. He was helping coordinate the rescue operation. And, Randy Edmunds is from Makkovik and is also MHA for Torngat Mountains. He was involved in the search and is on the line with Tony Dawson.
