George LeFeuvre - Going to the NL Sports Hall of Fame
George LeFeuvre in his groomer and with Norwegians in 2009 When George LeFeuvre moved to Labrador City from the Burin Peninsula in the sixties, he’d never been involved in cross country skiing. A decade later he started skiing with some of the residents on the beginner trails. In those days the trails were groomed using snowshoes, and later a single snowmobile. Over the years the trails, the club and the equipment at Menihek Nordic ski club evolved. Now it’s a world class facility. It was there that LeFeuvre learned the art of grooming. That has gotten him invitations to many olympic and world cup ski championships. This week George LeFeuvre will be inducted to the Newfoundland and Labrador sports hall of fame in April. He’s on the line with Tony Dawson.
