444 Squadron - Returns to active search duties in Labrador
444 Commander Fred Eidt When it comes to search and rescue, timing is critical. If you’ve needed a rescue in Labrador, it’s common to have to wait hours for a chopper to arrive from Gander. Although that will still sometimes be the case, a helicopter squadron is now trained and available to perform search and rescue from Happy Valley Goose Bay. The local capability has already proved valuable. Last weekend the Triple 4 Squadron rescued a man who got sick out on the land. CBC reporter Peter Cowan spoke to Commander Fred Eidt about the mission.
