New Senator to replace Bill Rompkey - Not from Labrador

For the last 16 years, Labrador has been well represented in Canada’s senate. Bill Rompkey championed local issues in the upper chamber, until his retirement last year. On Friday the Conservative government appointed a non-Labradorian, Norman Doyle. Doyle lives in St. John’s. And some are not happy with the move. Outgoing senator Bill Rompkey told CBC reporter Peter Cowan how he reacted to the announcement. and we hear from Yvonne Jones, liberal MHA for Cartwright - L’Anse au Clair, about the appointment of a non Labradorian to the Senate. as well as an email response from Labrador MP and Cabinet Minister Peter Penashue
