New election ordered for Natuashish
A federal court judge has overturned the result of the Natuashish band elections. The court cited several problems with how the election was conducted, like short notice times, problems with the voters list and an unacceptable number of spoiled ballots. The court ordered that a new election be held within three months. Former chief Prote Poker challenged the results of the election after he was voted out of office. Poker now joins Colleen Connors by phone from his home in Natuashish.
