George River Caribou Health Study

2009caribou-thumb.jpg George River Caribou The Caribou hunt for the George River herd has started in Labrador. It’s a herd that has seen a dramatic drop in the number of animals. Thats prompted reductions in quotas, and other conservation measures. This year, a health study is being done on animals , and the department of environment and conservation is asking for some help from hunters. David Elliott is a wildlife biologist at the Happy Valley Goose Bay office of environment and conservation He spoke with Mike Power about the study
