For the first time, scientists there are taking a good look at bats in Labrador. They’re concerned about a fungus that’s hitting North American bat populations. Update - Missing boy in Makkovik

makkovik map.jpgA 14 year old boy dropped off his cousin at his grandmother’s house on Sunday afternoon and hasn’t been seen since. The boy is from Makkovik and a full on search has been on the go since Monday. The RCMP have called off the ground search. And now searchers are looking for him near open water. For the latest, we have Cprl. Kimball Vardy on the line from Makkovik.

New Housing Subsidy Guidlines in Labrador West

Many more people will now qualify for subsidized housing in Labrador West, Even those making over 60-thousand dollars a year will get help. In an area where even a one-bedroom can go for thousands, it’s a welcome change. The CEO of the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation, Len Simms, was in Labrador West yesterday to announce the change He spoke to Labrador Morning’s Mike Power. After the announcement, Mike spoke to two members of the Labrador West Housing and Homelessness Coalition.
