Heading South - Inuit and Urban Prejudice
QALLUNAALIAQPALLIANIQ - HEADING SOUTH is a new film about Inuit people leaving their rural communities to live in urban centres. The documentary debuts this week in Montreal. It explores the social pressures Inuit from rural communities encounter when they move to cities. One of the people featured in the film is Joey Flowers. Flowers grew up in Labrador, and is a student of law at McGill University. He and film maker Guy Simoneau spoke candidly about prejudice with Labrador Morning’s Byron Hamel on the line from Montreal.
