It’s hard to believe any child would want to sit at a table and learn anything in the middle of the summer.. But 11 and 12 year old girls in North West River do it every Wednesday night. The girls participate in lectures and activities surrounding issues like self esteem, bullying, media, and peer pressure. The program is called Especially Girls and its a way for pre teens to express themselves in a more comfortable situation than a typical classroom. Instructor Lee Ann Andersone and 5 girls gather around a table Wednesday evening to talk about peer pressure.
