The Trip to Zoar
Life is back to normal in Nain today as people do that they usually would at this time of year…..wait for the first ships to arrive. But last week was far from routine….there was a buzz around town as everyone was getting ready for the big trip to Zoar. They made pots of caribou soup …they painted a new wooden fence They were preparing for a ceremony to right a wrong that happened eighty four years ago. That’s when the remains of twenty two of their ancestors were stolen from a graveyard at Zoar. Labrador Morning’s Colleen Connors followed as the community got ready to put the remains back where they belonged….
