June 6, 2011 - John Terriak - A monument for Zoar
John Terriak A descendant of one of the people whose remains were taken from Zoar is commemorating the repatriation in a very special way. John Terriak’s great grandfather is one of the twenty two Inuit whose remains were brought to a museum in Chicago in 1927. The bones have been returned to Nain and will be reinterred in Zoar on June 22. John is putting his carving skills to work to build a monument for the reburial ceremony. Labrador Morning’s Colleen Connors reached John at his workshop in Nain.
