Just how close was the close call between PAL and JAZZ this week?
They were two and a half nautical miles apart with a five hundred foot difference in altitude.
That’s what we know about the reason a provincial Airlines flight to Wabush had to take a quick descent Monday.
The aircraft in it’s path was an Air Canada Jazz RJ on it’s way to Gander. It was scary for passengers certainly… but we wondered how out of the ordinary this incident was for the crews ….and how concerned they might have been at the time. The airlines aren’t talking about this……so reporter Vic Adhopia went to Yvan-Milville des Chenes He was an air traffic controller for 30 years, and is now an aviation consultant .
