With government funding, Smart Labrador helped bring a consistent internet rate to homes and businesses in rural Labrador. Bell Aliant didn’t have to pay in full to provide service to the North Coast and areas in Upper Lake Melville because ACOA and the province paid for half. Well now that five year agreement for affordable internet service is over. And Sheila Downer says Aliant is taking a big step backwards with this rate increase.
