Yvonne Jones Feb 2011.jpgYvonne Jones There is plenty of reaction to the report on the fishery that was released on Friday. The document was prepared for a gov’t, union and industry steering committee. It recommended big reductions in the inshore fleet. And a 30 per cent reduction in crab and shrimp plants. The biggest cuts would be along the northern coast and southern Labrador. But the Minister of Fisheries says he’s not endorsing the reccomendations. Clyde Jackman says the downsizing will cost the province $450 million dollars. Opposition Leader, Yvonne Jones says Government needs to do better with restructuring the industry. Reporter Tara McLean caght up with her during the Combined Council Meetings in Happy Valley - Goose Bay on Friday.
