Arrest made in Wabush Hit and Run

nl-hitandrun-tree-.jpgA 29-year-old western Labrador man facing six charges following a fatal hit-and-run in December is expected to appear in court Wednesday.

Jeremy Shannon Reid, of Wabush, is the owner of a vehicle that is believed to have been involved in the incident. His jeep was impounded at the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary building in Labrador City.

Some people in western Labrador claim Reid was drinking at a local nightclub before driving home the night of the accident. The entire incident in early December was caught on tape by a surveillance camera.

The Hit and Run left Shane Mercer dead and Leisa Penney  remains in hospital recovering from her injuries. We hear from the RNC as well as Ron Barron, Mayor of Wabush, Josephine Gaulton Rowe, President of the Labrador West Chapter of Mothers against Drunk Driving, and Mike Power went to the streetes to hear wht people are saying about the arrest, and drinking and driving.
