People in Labrador West decorate a Christmas Tree in memory of the late Shane Mercer

Two days before Christmas Amanda Stanley wanted to do something to remember Shane Mercer who passed away a few weeks ago. The store she worked for donated a tree and they put it up near the sight of the fatal hit and run accident that happened at the beginning of December. Posting a picture of the tree on Facebook, and through word of mouth, people in Labrador West began covering the tree with decorations. Jeremy Eaton speaks with Amanda Stanley, who came up with the idea.

Happy Valley-Goose Bay man invents the "Skizee"

jimmy maidment.jpgThe SKI-ZEE inventor is from Happy Valley Goose Bay. Never heard of a skiizee? Well you soon will.  A three foot long motor skizee_02.jpgattaches behind and allows the skier to go downhill, uphill and even on flat land! The inventor, Jimmy Maidment first learned to ski at the hill in Happy Valley Goose Bay.
