<p>The mill is shut down in Voisey's Bay....Vale found a leak in a tailing's line this past Saturday.</p>
<p>A broken valve caused some waste rock to spill and possibly contaminate the drinking water there. The company is waiting to hear the result of water quality tests. Meantime, it's looking at cleaning up the site.</p>
<p>The Innu Nation and Nunatsiavut Government have Environmental Monitors on site as well.</p>

<p></font>Most of you probably have a photo of yourself you'd rather trash than show anyone! But a woman from Killbride has one that brought her notoriety. Keri Rodden-Kemo has a photograph from grade nine, when she went to Beaconsfield Junior High in St. John's.</p>
<p>It's a classic!.... Her hair was a curly, massive, wild wave! And it landed her an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show!</p>
<p>It aired yesterday in this province. St. John's morning show host, Jeff Gilhooley reached her afterwards at her home in Toronto. </p>

It's eliminating the retention of large salmon in Labrador, and reducing the net by-catch limit from four to three. DFO claims salmon stocks in Labrador are down fifty percent.</p>
<p>The Labrador Hunting and Fishing Association disagrees. We heard from President, Tony Chubbs earlier this month. He says DFO's data collection is problematic, and does not warrant these changes.The Association is asking DFO to reverse it's decision until people in Labrador have been properly consulted.</p>

<p>But it wasn't always like that.... Years ago most of the coast was served only by boat, or by chartering an aircraft. </p>
<p>That changed over the years, thanks in Part to Bert Patey. </p>
<p>He and two other partners bought a bush plane<a onclick="window.open('http://www.cbc.ca/labradormorning/assets_c/2011/01/Bill Rompkey-72934.html','popup','width=150,height=217,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0'); return false" href="http://www.cbc.ca/labradormorning/assets_c/2011/01/Bill%20Rompkey-72934.html"><img class="mt-image-right" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 20px 20px" height="144" alt="Bill Rompkey.jpg" src="http://www.cbc.ca/labradormorning/assets_c/2011/01/Bill%20Rompkey-thumb-100x144-72934.jpg" width="100" /></a> operation, that evolved into a regular service. Patey passed away this week at his home in Newfoundland, at the age of seventy eight. </p>
<p>He had spent a long time in Labrador where he nurtured the aviation business. </p>
<p>One Person who knew Patey quite well and appreciates his contribution to Labrador's Aviation history is Labrador's Senator, Bill Rompkey.</p>
<p>Labrador Morning's&nbsp;Mike Power reached him in Ottawa to find out more about Patey's contribution to Aviation in Labrador.</p>
