Twilight:

Alright, hello all. I will probably get mostly bad comments from most if not all of you girls for this one. But I have to say it; Twilight was absolutely horrible. What a plagiarism of ever vampire book I've ever read. The only difference was that there was a guy who everyone fell in love with. =(> Big whoop.
This is "destined to become a classic" apparently, and sure, maybe it will, but in twenty years, it's getting thrown on a pile of old, worn-out, over-rated vamp books with no more value than the movie Eragon, (a whole other story.) So please, stop reading Twilight while you can and pick up a book like The Penderwicks or Clive Cusslers, Polar Shift. I don't know, anything is better than Twilight. Please, stop obsessing over Edward Cullens, he's fictional and has YELLOW EYES. Boy, I can't wait to see the awful ratings the movie gets. =)
p.s. I'd be happy to argue any and all of your protests against my dislike for twilight. So please, challenge me.
p.p.s any protests involving "OMG whow cn u say that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This waz the best book evar!!! OMG OMG OMG!!! Edward is sooooooo cute!!!!! He is my huzbandd 4 lif!!!!!!!!!
Mrs. Edward Cullens" will be overly OVERLY ignored. I really don't want to deal with correcting spelling mistakes in my mind, thanks.

the pale skin, sparkles nd glitters, and the eyes.

I hated Twilight. The characters aren't well developed, and all anyone can say about it is that it's great. They can't give a reason. Twilight is a horrible book.

Twilight is the droning repetition of everything that has already been stated about the vampire/horror genre. There is nothing orignial about it, therefore, deserving of the tittle of a New York Times Bestseller. The only thing it has is the emotional, superficial aspect of a teenage romance plot--given to say that even this is implausible and equivocal with the characterization of Edward who happens to be 114 years of age and likes a blaringly pre-pubescent minded girl like Bella (obviously maturity has not reached him in 100 years which is a greater crime than her own immaturity once she finds his secret). The account of the Northwest is almost insulting, The area is not a hick's town with limited facilities which the author has failed to gather relevant information of. Wrong in facts, a story that has been retold too many times since Romeo and Juliet (compare to "my best friend's wedding" being repeated endlessly in many forms). Many Twilight fans cannot answer the reason that they are attracted to the novel with anything other than emotional terms. "I like this" is fine for the general population, but not good enough for the literary community. Agreeeing with the original post, only when Twilight fades from the memory of pop culture and becomes a relic of an old fad will it's value as a "cultural" book will rise, but its place is not in literature.

I totally agree. I read the first 4 chapters and thought it was bad and won't waste my time with the rest. The movie will equally or on a larger scale suck more than the book because obviously the only thing you need to have a good movie these days in the eyes of A LOT of teenagers (not all) is OMG HE IS SOOOOO HOT!!!

I agree that Twilight is not the best book as the plot and the character development aren't as in depth like many other "classics". Also, it seems that the only detailed description in the books are about the Cullens. But despite the many, many flaws it has, I read it. It might be the "teenage-ness", but it might be that we can relate to some of Bella's troubles, thoughts and special moments such as our first crush and our feelings towards our parents.
There are sometimes though when I get irked by Bella's stupidity and lack of common sense. Sometimes I just want to put the book down, but there's something that makes me want to read it... maybe its the fact that I don't have to think too much when I read about this "vampire tale" and I could just let my imagination take me wherever it goes.
Posted by: Anonymous | November 21, 2008 07:53 PM
Guess who's not a boy? Me. Lovey Dovey stuff doesn't bother me, "i love school", it's just the whole point of the book- There isn't one, it's just like any other crappy vampire book but with a Romeo and Juliet twist type of thing. Romantic novels are actually very sweet and they ARE a good read, but Twilight is so cliche and everything a book shouldn't be. It's horrible, and it was poorly written.
Posted by: someone (author) | November 22, 2008 01:31 AM
These books are awful, and I haven't read a single page of any of them. Every reputable critic in the English speaking world has slammed the book, and now the film. But of course that doesn't matter. Bad reviews won't stop all those giddy tween girls from wasting $11 (20 if you include snacks) at the cinema, or Stephenie Meyer from becoming tremendously rich.
Posted by: Chris | November 22, 2008 05:25 AM
Not everyone freaks out over Edward, you know. There's a genre for the stereotypical hot guy that sells, and it's not a genre directed towards young teen girls.
Twilight is definitely not in the top percentage of literature out there, but it's not complete crap either. There are some strengths, and while the glaring weaknesses tend to stand out, there's still little gems hidden in there. Some character development, some suspense. I personally enjoy them better than Harry Potter.
On a note about the movie, it's probably the best casting I've ever seen for a film. And while the reviews have been overwhelmingly negative, I still enjoyed it.
Posted by: Jadei | November 23, 2008 05:06 PM
So I tried giving this book a chance. I kept reading it in hopes it would pick up and there would be more character development. Nope. It didn't happen. All I know is that Bella is so "interesting" according to Edward, but SM never expands on it besides he thirsts for her blood and can't read her thoughts. Woop-de-doo!
Edward, yes, he was charming, and dazzling, but to read those adjectives 100 times was a bit tiresome. Blah blah blah his butterscotch eyes.
Posted by: Didi | November 24, 2008 08:05 AM
I can say that there are some spelling errors that I have picked up, but I must say Twilight is an amazing book. You people who dont like it, why are you bashing the writer for what you feel are her poor writting skills? It is not going to change anything. A wide variety of readers have loved this book, and for you people who hate it, you must not have very imaginative minds.

Despite how well, or how poorly, the novel was written, it has succeeded in the promotion of reading amongst thousands of teens across Canada (and worldwide). How can a book be so bad with results so positive?
Posted by: CJ | November 29, 2008 10:58 PM
twilight was an aswome book. I read it in like three days. At firsh I didn't wat to read it but all my friends were, so I asked to borrow my friend's book. And I lived it it was soooooooo good right now i'm on the second book and i'm almost done. The second book is good and you get to see ALOT more jacob.
Posted by: TwilightFan101 | November 30, 2008 02:23 PM
CJ, my reasoning for the horrible problem of thousands of teens reading this book is that once a book becomes popular, it becomes a fad- Like those giant sunglasses last year. It was made popular by fashion models and it became something that you HAD to own. Twilight is like that. Once one girl recomends a book to her friends, people see them all reading the same thing, so they go out and buy it, more people see the book everywhere and people end up buying it because it's the 'cool' thing to have. That and the fact that "Edward is the hottest boy EVAR!!!!!" <--- quote from a close friend of mine.
It's sad that nobody reads for content anymore, it's all about the hot guy, the fad, the up-coming movie (just like Eragon) the over-ratedness, and the peer pressure aspect. =(
And wow, a person holding an apple on the cover. Real creative Miss. Meyer! *claps sarcastically* You really out-did yourself on that one, I must say. Yeah, that apple halfway through the book was a real inspiration to me, too.

Twilight is a good book my friend is reading the book and seen the movie she says they are both the best i think that it is good i just got it today and am reading cap 1:) :)
Posted by: kody | December 5, 2008 09:46 PM
i think the book is good and i think that why i like it is because it is a romantic book and girls just tend to like romantic books because they truely want that to happen for them because all a girl wants is to be loved and this book is saying that you can find love even if you dont think so and EDWARD is cute lol
Posted by: love | December 6, 2008 02:31 PM
I read your review and I can understand your perspective on this book but you do have to look at the age group and maturity level of the reader as well. Many of the individuals reading this book (or who have read this book including me) do believe there is a story line to it. This story line of course, has been used many times over and over again for the purpose of it being a romantic love story and the idea of impossible incorporated between achieving true love (in whatever form ..ex: vampires). The book is centered to much on infatuation and can cause young teenage girls and teenagers to believe that an ideal person is out there for them (or plainly Edward). This creates unrealistic ideas for many individuals but it has certain limits and MOST people know these limits. Those who don't, figure it out sooner or later when they see people are not vampires and that you cannot find an idealistic person like that (in appearance at most). I have personally read this book and thought the story was okay with some parts that I did not agree with but lets just remember that its a fiction book created for individuals who want to read some romance with a little bit of horror or vampire added to it to create a different in their common knowledge story of "Romeo and Juliet". I wouldn't give it a bad rating as you have but I would say that the author did do a good job in some parts of the story.
Also, the whole "Edward" crazy mania thing will last most likely for a few months until the next movie comes out when there will be a repetition of behavior just like for "Harry Potter".
I'm not sure about you, but having read a book that has been created into a movie does stir some curiosity among the readers to see what the movie portrayal of the story would feel like. One great example of this is again "Harry Potter" or "Narnia".
I hope you understand what I'm saying. I wouldn't consider this book to be "lame" but more moderate and could be used as just for a good reading material.
Sarah
ps. I know how annoying the obsession can be, my sisters turning into one of them =)

I enjoyed reading the books. I have read many books in many different genres. This book offered romance and a light, easy read. I agree that it is not great literature. However, being a fan of vampire books I fail to see the plagerism? Stephenie Meyer created her own characteristics for her vampires that I haven't seen elsewhere. There will always be similarities in popular romance novels; i.e. something or someone standing in their way otherwise it wouldn't be a very long story. Not to be too particular but the Cullens eyes are golden, not yellow and looked quite nice in the movie. The movie wasn't as good as the book, but you can say that about almost every movie based on a book. Could have had more dialogue between Edward and Bella and less scenery shots though. They rushed the whole 'falling in love' part which was very important to the book.

Honestly ... it was absolutely brutal. I'm not kidding even a little bit. I went in there with a completely open mind and I watch a lot of movies but this was horrible. The acting was not good at all, the makeup was silly, the storyline dragged on ... and on ... and on. There was NO climax! None. Plus, not even a little bit believable, I kept snickering & laughing - I couldn't help it. The vampire acts so weird and creepy, it doesn't make any sense why she is ready to throw herself all over him. It was cheesy and drawn out. I honestly think this was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I really wish I hadn't went. I wanted to get up and leave. Brutal.

"Twilight is the droning repetition of everything that has already been stated about the vampire/horror genre. "
Well I guess you did not make it that far, if you noticed they went out in sunlight and didn't drink human blood. How is that a droning repetition?
I read a lot of different styles of writing. I really enjoyed this book, it was easy to read and I finished it in 2 days. I don't think it will be a classic but it held my amusement. I liked it.

The book makes me puke. I wouldn't read it if it was the last book on earth.
Posted by: Flower | December 12, 2008 07:27 PM
well...I watched the movie instead, and everyone says the movie was a bad compared to the book, and since I didn't read the book I don't know ,,, but the movie was really REALLY unbearable... no offence. Edward's acting was the worst part, it was pretty funny. That's all I'm saying...the acting, the rest was okay :) except it was a little over the top for me? I dunno, too lovedovey..I mean I'm a girl, I like romance fiction too, this one seemed kinda awkward though. and edward fans.............I have absolutely NO IDEA how edward looks hot....or even handsome........sorry maybe it's just me, don't take it too seriously....=O=;; PLUS I'm so tireeeeeeeed of girls going crazy over him...annoys the crap out of me. So obbsessive crazy edward fangirls >0<;
Posted by: jinjuu | December 14, 2008 02:37 AM
I see your point, Sarah, but only doing good in SOME parts of the book means that Stephanie Meyer is not yet ready to write a book that is a reflection of every Romeo and Juliet type story out there. If you want to write a novel about one of the greatest novels or 'plays' ever made, you have to twist some parts of it up a bit, you have to make it more of your own. She DID with the Vampires and theiir strength and everything, but she still kept that main storyline; Boy from different family spots girl on the other side of the room. They automatically fall in love. Boy protects girl from all possible dangers... That's another point! It's so unrealistic that Bella would get herself into so much trouble and she just asumes somebody is going to save her! It's Edward to the rescue!!!! And she's not affraid of him being a vampire and wanting to drink her blood? I would think the man was crazy if he told me he was a vampire! I just think the whole... Thing was a disaster and unrealistic.
Like I said before, you make a good point about the level and age group of the readers, so I can agree with that. I don't know... People shouldn't be going crazy about a character in a book!!! He's a character!!! There aren't vampires out there, and if there were, they probably would be out being creepy and killing people, not at school looking perfect and falling in love.... Now I'm rambling... But, yes, Sarah, I totally see your point and agree with it in some ways... OK, sorry for waisting your time!

I'm glad that so many people think Twilight is a big waste of paper.
For all those who say, it is the best book EVER!, you might want to pay more attention in English, brush up on your grammar and sentence structure. This book has so many terrible paragraphs, just the terrible writing made it hard to read.
I really thought the movie, with director Cathrine Hardwicke - who did Thirteen - would at least be able to save it, but she just brought with her more of the same stuff that made the book such a painful experience.

Okay for one I don't care if people think its stupid because its THE best book I've read in a LONG time.
Two- There are more people who LOVE Twilight than who HATE Twilight.
Three- All guys are just jealous that they AREN'T Edward (Or in my opinion Emmett) Cullen.
All people who think Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, or Breaking Dawn were HORRIBLE are wrong and I'd gladly argue with anyone who said different.

i enjoyed twilight knowing the story was weak and the climax was...well... very anticlimatic, but being in teh situation of liking a very attractive guy, and then the little things he says to make him seem like he likes you back, makes you excited as a reader, but by no means does this prove this is the "best book ever" i found it repetative and all of the books could have been condenced by about 100-200 pages easily by all of the meaningless dialogue, thoughts, and constant description.

Twilight is so awesome!!!!! i guess every one has their opinions though, so you may or may not like this book & movie. but we personally think that twilight is the best movie & book we have ever read and seen. once we picked the book up we couldnt put it down. Twilight is a romantic book, where even though Edward is highly dangerous as a Vampire, Bella and Edward still find a way to be together and never want to be separated. and for all those twilight fans out there we totally agree Edward Cullens is soooooooooooo Hot!!!!!!!! and for all those people who hate twilight, we'd like to see you come up with a better book filled with romance and insperation!!! Stephanie Meyer is a great Author and Twilight is a magnificent book & Movie. You must have no heart to see the Romance in this book & movie. and just for the record, we will be glad to take on who ever thinks twilight is horrible.

Last year, I got the book "Twilight" for Christmas. It wasn't my favorite book but, it was okay. I prefer the "Dangerous girls" series etc... Anyways, I went to see the movie AND it was horrible!!! I have never been so disappointed with a movie in my life. A few hours of my life are gone that I can never get back. $8.50 wasted!!!! The acting was terrible. Couldn't they have gotten better casting then Kristen Stewart? The only part of the film I found GREAT was the accuracy of Edward Cullen (I love that character!)
All in all, hey, whatever floats your boat is fine by me but, if you want to have a good time at a movie go see "Four Christmases"! If I could I would give this movie a rating of -1 but, I can't so I won't.

I agree with you completely. This series of books plays on the feelings of the reader with the most horrible lines since The Notebook and 'develops' characters as flat as a piece of paper.

Posted by: overrated | December 30, 2008 12:31 AM
I've read three of the books in the Twilight series, so far, I've been disappointed, but once I start one book I have to finish the rest. The characters are horrible, and sparkling vampires is just idiotic to me. And I it has been said before that vampires can go out in day light, and there have been vampires that don't drink human blood. This novel is poorly written, repetitive, and it seems like Meyer just stick in larger and more uncommon words to make it seem like she can write a halfway decent book. By the way, Harry Potter books may not grab your attention, but they're a lot better than the Twilight series, at least Harry Potter novels are original, and CAN be called a novel. The movie wasn't the best either. But I don't want to bring down someones "hard work" just because it didn't live up to standards, you can't give them crap for trying, the writer and the movie maker, as long as others like it then who am I to judge them. Try reading Bram Stokers Dracula. Try watching the movie Memoirs of a Geisha, then you'll see what a true love story is.

I think that you need to consider the audience, like one of the previous posters wrote. This is a series for young adults. It's unfair and silly for adults to critique a popular series, which is not unlike the craze for all of the R.L. Stine books I'm sure many of us read as pre-teens. So, I understand the criticism, but let's remember the audience.
The books were not great, but they were a perfect portrayal of young, confused teenage love.

I completly disagree I loved Twilight and the rest of the Twilight saga so much. They were my favourite books of all time. Read the book if you haven't read it you will be amazed by it and love it. I read all four books and I'm not crazy about Edward at all.

I have not read Twilight yet, but I do know that it is not horrible. I am going to go see the movie this weekend, and will post a further response when I get back. And I'm reading the book soon as well, no matter what anyone says. I actually am interested in the whole vampire-teenage love thing and think it is a fairly good plot. I am not overly obsessed with Edward like most girls, as most of my friends already are and it gets 'obsessively' annoying. :) And for those of you who haven't even read Twilight, you shouldn't give it a bad rating just because you think everyone's told you everything. I found that out after I read the Harry Potter series. I thought it was going to be horrible, but actually... I LOVED IT! So, yeah, don't go like 'omg, it sucked!" even when you haven't read it yet. That's not being a very good sport to the author. You gotta have some respect, I mean, come on, it probably took her forever to write a book that's what... 7-800 pages long? Plus New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.
Posted by: April | January 8, 2009 02:39 PM
The Twilight saga was the best series I've ever read because the romance/scary-ness was so good. I really admire Stephenie Meyer for writing the best books on the earth! I can't put my book down or out of my sight when I read them. If you havn't read New Moon, Eclipse or Breaking Dawn you should because the series goes on! I hope Stephenie Meyer publishes her work in progress Midnight Sun but sadly she might not because one of her coleuges put it on the internet wihtout her permission. Stephenie's Website is www.stepheniemeyer.com and you can see some of what she says about her series. This is a *SPOILER ALERT* for people who havn't read Breaking Dawn! So if you havn't read Breaking Dawn you should not read this.

Though Some things really irked me
(Grammar, spelling, character development, the stupidity of Bella, and the seemingly endless ways in which she could get herself into dangerous situations) I cant completely bash a book that had me stuck on a couch for 4 hours straight. When prevented from reading the last of it for the next two days, I couldnt stop thinking about it, and had a hard time concentraiting for the pain of excitement and suppressed emotion in my chest when thinking about the story, wanting to know how it turned out. I read the series in a week, and hope to read twilight again soon. Granted, I read through them so quickly I didnt give myself much time to dwell on the quality of the characters and plot or lack there of. So some things are hazy to me now... but I do remember really enjoying the different reallity presented. Because it wasnt set in a mythical land called Narvulea (or some such thing) where we clearly understand with our hearts and minds that this land could not be, and is not real. But instead is set in our day and age, in my own home state, with reality as we know it coming right up to, and touching the otherworldly and unreal, in a believable way. I came away from this book almost daring to believe that this could happen somewhere, if not just plain wishing it could. That Is something I dont usually experience and is why I think people (especially hopelessly romantic teenage girls) are so crazy about it. They dont care that its not great liturature. When they say it is "The Best Book Ever!!!" Its plainly from the veiw point that if it made me Dream that vividly, Wish that stronglly, and Want THAT badly, it has to be a good book.
I am very tired, so a lot of this may not have made sense...
I guess I want to just put my two cents in, and say that what is wrong with liking a book that may have flaws? Why are some people so appinionated that they put their feelings on a subject out there like its the only way to think? We all have our likes and dislikes. and some things may bother you more than it bothers me. But it doesnt give eather of us the right to bash the other or the thing that we dissagree on. Especially about a book that really is only made for personal reading pleasure. If you dont like the book why do you feel you must convince everyone else that its horrible? keep it to yourself and accupy yourself with things that matter more, and not spoil the book for somone who likes it, or may like it if they read it. Its their choice to like the book, good or bad as it may be.
Sometimes its very hard to read good liturature, lol it can be just plain difficult! and even though some books are less than great, I would rather read something that takes me somewhere and is unbearable to put down, (because that is what makes reading a book so enjoyable) than reading a classic that makes my brain spasm. though I do believe we need to support the reading of the classics and all around good writing of every kind, so that we are not illiterate and narrow minded. But I like reading things like Twilight because its an escape. It has its place in the world like anything else.

Twilight is a book aimed at teens/tweens, and it shows! I liked this book, but compared to others I've read, the plot is pretty dry and predictable: Some beautiful guy falls in love with this not-so-beautiful girl, they kiss a lot, they say they love each other. It's a teenage girl's fantasy; but it's totally unrealistic!
Edward and Bella are really tiresome characters, with Bella constantly playing the damsel in distress, and Edward always saving her. The smaller characters, such as Jasper and Alice, are a lot more interesting and complex.
People are only in it for the guys, Edward and Jacob, who are usually described as HOT. One word.
Twilight is brainwashing, I mean, stores sell Team Edward or Jacob t-shirts, or t-shirts with references to Bella, Edward, and Jacob. Some people cry when they read it, it's not even sad, just an example of another book that's being milked dry.
P.S.
People, watch your spelling and grammar! 'You' isn't spelt 'U'.
And Harry Potter is a million times better than Twilight. It's a classic. And I disagree with anyone who says it isn't.

Ok, I can see y soo many ppl do like Twilight & Y soo many ppl don't like it. Me personaly I really like the series & its true that Bella is a little repetative on the whole damsel in destress thing, but honestly the majority of the girls in the entire world probably felt this way about a guy. AND if you have never read it & maybe never will,Y on earth do you critize. I have never read Any of the Harry Potter series & never will but i won't say its the most horrible book i just think its full of witchcraft! Don't worry haters of Twilight it is just a fad that will end just like the other fads. But i think it was a GREAT SERIES & a AWESOME movie. oh by the way ME + Edward = LOVE!!!! =)

The Twilight series is the best series i have ever read. To me it doesn't even seem like you have given it a chance. I like it because even though Bella is just a normal human girl, she gets someone (Edward Cullen) who is so wonderful that it is hard to believe that he exists. I love how coherent and descriptive Stephenie Meyer is. It makes the experience much more real and enjoyable. You need to read the whole series. It IS amazing. Yes, I am overly obsessed with Twilight and the Cullens and all that. But let's all keep in mind that we all have different likes and dislikes. Everyone is different and we all have different tastes. Some people like it, some people don't. If any of you want to argue with me about the Twilight series, please do. I'm totally up for a debate.

I disagree with your opinion on the book twilight. I liked the book a lot I wasn’t to into books with vampire and stuff but I liked twilight. I didn’t like the movie a lot but books are always better then the movies.
Maybe in a few years the book would be old and not so popular and no one might like it anymore but I still find it’s a good book.
I think you shouldn’t tell people what to read and what not to read. It’s their chose maybe you don’t like it but other people would like it. Everyone different and likes different stuff.
The people that are obsessed with Edward some day they see that he’s just a guy in a book. But let then be.
Anyways that’s all I have to say to your comment on twilight.
Posted by: Tina | April 30, 2009 01:27 PM
I enjoyed reading this book very much. I’ve read many books in many genres.
Stephanie Meyer created her own characteristics for her vampires that I haven't seen elsewhere.
There will always be similarities in popular romance novels.
Cullens eyes are golden, not yellow and looked quite nice in the movie. I thought there were a lot of details on each character, which made the book very good. Could have had more dialogue between Edward and Bella and less scenery shots though. They rushed the whole 'falling in love' part which was very important to the book. Overall I thought Twilight was very good and well put.

I can see how somebody would be sick of all the girls fan-girling like mad over something they hardly understand, but I don't see how Twilight plagiarized every vampire book ever written. Isn't the idea of vampires the only thing plagiarized? When you think about it, every vampire book uses the same basics of vampires. If Twilight came out before all the other vampire books, wouldn't you be writing the same thing about the other books? The thing that made the book so popular, in my opinion, was the fact that Bella's personality is quite neutral, easy enough to paste your own onto her and pretend you're married to Edward Cullen. I think you should read the book again, and look at the unique personalities of all the other characters, and the excellent writing style that is uniquely Stephenie Meyer's.

Posted by: VL | July 1, 2009 05:24 PM
twilight is romance novel. seriously, if you people want these things go ahead.its just a romance novel with vampires!
Posted by: nick | July 8, 2009 06:02 PM
....No. It's not a "romance" novel. It's a "shallow" novel. Seriously. Edward has no personality except for "Hot." Bella has no ambitions in life, and she only lives for Edward. Edward is "afraid that he will hurt Bella" by loving her, which is direct symbolism of abstinence in teens.
In the end Bella marries Edward and becomes a vamp, they have a child and live happily forever.
Clearly this novel was meant to push the author's beliefs about the fact that a woman must be married to be happy. End of story.

I enjoyed reading Twilight, though at times, yes, it got a little stupid. It was NOWHERE near other popular fantasy series/books, such as Harry Potter or LOTR.
The movie was kinda dumb, and I don't like Robert Pattinson as an actor anyway. He always looks sleepy and vague.
Posted by: Chantel | September 14, 2009 08:12 PM
I'm not aloud to read twilight but I like the movie!! Can't wait til New Moon!
Posted by: Sam | September 18, 2009 08:44 PM
I agree with joryden
I read twilight after Chirstmas and the beggining was dort of good but the rest was horrable. The author gave way to much detail on every single little thing.
I find the Harry Potter serous much more engaging and interesting to read then the twilight sage.
twilight is a copy off of other vampire books. agreed.

im a girl and needless to say i HATE twilight. i think robert patterson a.k.a edward is ugly and is so not a heart throb. i also think kristin stewart a.k.a. bella just needs to go to rehab. i read the book and it is so boring. if you want to see wat vampires really live like read "the reformed vampire support group." its the best book ever.
love.peace.twilight suks.

I thought this book was this passing fad and that the girl in my class who obsessed and still obsess' about it is way wierd. But me and my mom went to the book store and i saw this whol shelve of only twilight books. I asked my mom if i could get it and i loved it. I'm almost done the fourth.
I want to say this. I can answer the qeustion why do you like it. Here's it. Because I do. And if you people think that that is completley wierd yeah it is but people like this book and why they like it is there buisness you can't tell this person that its a stupid book thats your point of view.
Here's why I really like the book and the movie. You can connect to the characters except the being a vampire part. You can relate to the problems the emotion and the personalities. I mean the first date, the you love this person so much that you want to make a shrine to this person/vampire.

I don't know what's wrong with all of you. Twilight is an amazing book! Though I may not be such a fan, I respect the book, truly. Out of all the books I've read (lots and lots and lots and lots) I been lookin for a book that caught my eye. Twilight was a great book and if you wanna critisize the book. Why don't you go say it to the author's face? Why should the fans be listening to the complaints you haters have? We like the books, and if it bothers you.....too bad.
Posted by: Simran | November 17, 2009 03:00 PM
I hate Twilight. It's a horrible book. All the characters are completely perfect, especially the vampires. I'm going to tell you this: REAL VAMPIRES DO NOT SPARKLE. They also don't fall in love with humans. They're not horrifyingly pretty, ice cold, rock hard, or any of that ... er ... stuff you see in Twilight. Real vampires are disgusting, not much better than zombies, really. I haven't read through all these comments yet, so I can't argue with anything with a point, so I can agree with the original poster. It's pointless. In New Moon, the sequel, Edward tries to kill himself by sparkling. I'm sorry, but I think that is pathetic.
@ Simran: Us haters can think what we think, and say what we say. It's a free country. If you see a review with one star and you love your precious Twilight like I love my Percy Jackson series, then don't look at it.
I'm a girl. I'm not even a teenager yet. I hated it a long time ago, and people hate me for it. But that's my two cents.

Did you acutally read the book? Your review contains absolutely no proof that you have read the book. I was expecting a bit of summary of the story...which would allow me to decide whether or not I should read it.
