The Fruits Basket manga is great. Everyone goes through their ups and down as Tohru has (It's acutally usually a boy name.) her adventures in the Sohma family. For the member in the zodiac, they transform into their zodiac animal when hugged by the opposite gender. Once you have started, you will not want to stop. So what are you waiting for?

I don't know what volume you've read up to, but wherever you have, later on it IS 13+, and it contains mature content. Its a good story, and I used to read it, but I stopped. I wouldn't recommend reading it.

Don't listen to Finny, Maddi. She is right, later on, about after volume 10, things begin to get a lot more mature, but it is still a very great series, and the maturity is essential to the story. Currently I am on Volume 19 and plan to read until the end! :3

I'm up to book 9 now; and it'd been a fantastic series the whole time ^^
Sometimes the plot gets a teeny bit hard to follow, but I could do with re-reading it anyway ^^
It's a great insight into Japan with a great plot ^^

Fruits basket is a very awesome book because of its different characters and the different styles they all have… like Kyo has short temper and is possessed by the cat Zodiac… and Yuki is a fairly calm type, and hatsuharu is a very depressed type… and the way that they make the characters interact and talk is quite interesting, like the dialogue is very good, they say things in very different ways not always normal but still makes perfect sense. And the art work in the books is amazing! I really like the art style, mine is very similar (not as good lol.)…and I find that this book is good because it’s different, it’s unique, not like every other book. Not very many books has their characters transform into animals from the Zodiac when they are hugged by someone of the opposite sex…. And the story line behind Yuki and Kyo is very good it’s a little confusing at first (or at least I thought it was) but once you get into the story you start top understand it better….I’ve read just about all of them, (well all the ones that are in English) and I’ve even watched almost all the episodes I have something like four or five left. My favorite character is Hatsuharu Sohma. I really like his style…kind of “emo” looking, and a fairly depressed personality, but he still has his joy when he is with Kisa. And even when he transforms he’s awesome! I mean a cow! I love it. He-he I like cows...lol
