Bento Boxes:

Hiya! It's Alli Kat, yada yada...Today my review is on the wonderful boxed lunch, Bento Boxes. Bento boxes are an exclusively Japanese type of lunch. They can be homemade or storebought. What you get in a bento usually consists of some kind of fish or meat, like sashimi (raw fish) or yakitori (grilled chicken), or sukiyaki stir-fry, raw or cooked vegetables and seasoned rice. Sometimes, they come with a dumpling called Gyoza, whicj. Each of these things are placed in a small compartment inside the bento box, so that they do not run into each other. Bentos can be anything you want them to be, and taste absolutely amazing! They are quite hard to get ahold of here in Canada, but you can pick them up at a few major supermarkets if you look hard enough. Some people seem not to enjoy this different Japanese taste to the food, but those who like it LOVE IT! (like me!) My favorite things to be put in Bento Boxes are probably edamame beans, sesame seed and seaweed rice, Ebi sushi and pork Gyoza dumplings.

If you have tried bento, please comment! I hope you liked my review on Japanese cuisine, bento!
