The "Skytrain" serves the lower mainland of British Columbia. There are 2 lines in operation, Expo and Millennium. The Expo Line opened up in 1985 and the Millennium Line opened in 2002. Currently, the Canada Line is still under construction and it will open sometime in 2009. The Cananda Line links up Vancouver to YVR. The total length of the system is about 49.5 Km. It contains 33 station, with the "Waterfront" as the starting station. One of the popular station is "Metrotown" with links up with the Metrotown mall. Skytrain is the longest automated light rapid transit system in the world. There are no drivers in any of the trains, but it is controlled by computers. It also uses the longest mass transit-only bridge, Skybridge. It is the only one in the world built only for transit. Skytrain is operated by Translink.
