This is one of the longest running shows in TV history, not that I've watched it all. I've only been watching season three, but i have been loving it!
The first time I knew this show even existed was when I saw coming up next after Ripley's Believe it or Not on Sci Fi. I had no idea what it was, and never gave notice to it.
Recently, my friend recommended it to me. She sent me a link to the first episode of season three and I watched the rest off my DVR.
It is an AMAZING show!!!!
A clever Time Lord with two hearts, called the Doctor, just the Doctor, that's why the show is called Doctor Who, can travel through space and time in his phone booth and bring himself and somebody else (as long as i've been watching it) on a huge and amazing adventure.
Even though i haven't watched all the seasons, i learned from my friend that this show can run so long because the Doctor can regenerate every time he gets hurt. That way actors that need to retire can without wrecking the show.
In season three, the Doctor takes a person named Martha into his adventures. His old companion was somebody named Rose, somebody I can't explain because I've not the other seasons that include her.
I give Doctor Who a 5 out of 5 because it's an interesting and extremely clever show.

Rose was his companion in Season 1 and 2, but got stuck in another dimension at the end of season 2. (And she's stuck there forever, as far as we know)
I 've more or less watched Dr. Who since it started airing on CBC. It's on Monday's at 8:00 p.m. (on CBC)

I am actually a HUGE fan of Dr. Who, but I haven't seen much of season 3. I saw the first episode, and that's it. Season 2, I watched every episode, every week. Rose was AWSOME! Blonde British girl. I wish I could see Dr. Who more, but I guess that's what happens when it's in the same time slot as Corner Gas... I actually watch it on CBC, not Sci-Fi.

Have only watched bits of Doctor Who and understand show much better after reading this review. It makes the show very appealing!

I haven't been on this site in a while so I missed these comments, sorry.
i've seen Doctor Who commercials on CBC, but it's ahead of what I'm watching on Sci Fi.
I've heard that Rose was really ppular and people were really sad when she was taken off. My friend says she might burn the first 2 seasons for me, so I could actually watch Rose on something besides a music video.

It's on at 9-10 and 11-12 on Sci Fi on Fridays, usually. And those will both be the same episode. I use the magic of my DVR to make sure I never miss it.

my friend has a remote controlled darlek, it's cool but the one without a remote is cooler... the new series rocks and the music/visuals/storyline keeps getting better i have to say....
score 5/5 ^_^ Plus David Tennant is a cutie as Dr. Who. One of the best doctors I have to say....

We like watching the show so much that we decided to buy a tardis (lots of $$$), so we can watch it whenever we like. Unfortunately, the tardis did not work for some reason we can't figure out LOL. Anyway, why did Chistopher Eccelson only stay for one season?

I began watching in black and white when the series first came out in the 60's ( William Hartnell was the first Doctor).
As the series has evolved along with the sophistication of the characters and the special effects my fascination for the show has increased.
For you young 'uns out there check out (if you can) any of the older Dr Who stuff.

Im from England so ive been watching Dr.who for a while. I havent seen any old episodes but ive been watching every episode since it aired - wich was 2005 in the U.K.
Series 1 i'd give a 5 out of 5
Series 2 i'd give a 5 out of 5
Series 3 i'd give a 5 out of 5
and im currenlty watching the fourth series.
The whole stroy behind Rose is that she was the Doctors first companion, and she was lost in series 2 ( see episodes 12, 13 series 2)
so she's gonna make a huge comeback in series 4 wich everyone is waiting for.

I love Doctor Who.
My question is when is CBC going to give this award winning show the respect it deserves. They are the last country to air each season, the uk season for Series 4 ended weeks ago. The US is already showing Series 4 and we in Canada see nothing until maybe Fall. I am disappointed with CBC's handling of this show. Last seasons Chiristmas special was not aired either. The best spot to see Dr. Who episodes in Canada is on the internet. Then order the DVD from the UK come Fall.
CBC: either get it to together and give the fans what they want or let another station have the rights to air this show.

i looked at the Schedule for doctor who and i only saw it listed once, that one friday and that was it

I just watched the "next Doctor" and "he planet of the dead" specials.... I don't understand why the CBC wouldn't air them here in Canada??? And they don't understand why we viewer turn to other channels and ways to watch our fav shows.... CBC when are you going to learn to keep us loyal to you? Certainly not by the way you handle great shows like DR WHO or Torchwood!!!!!!
