Life of Pi:

Who has ever read Life of Pi? If you haven't you don't know what you're missing. It's a 480 page book about an Indian boy who, when the cargo ship sinks that him and his family are traveling on, is trapped on a lifeboat with a zebra, an orangutan, a hyena, and a 450 pound royal Bengal tiger. The first hundred pages are interesting albeit a little bit boring, but that's when the boy, Piscine Molitor Patel, or Pi Patel, explains his life until the sinking of his ship. The next three hundred pages are so captivating that I read them all in two days. The person I gave it to, to read after me took two weeks to read the first hundred pages, then one day to read the rest. She couldn't put the book down! From 10am until 6pm she was reading. Even at lunch she was reading. The first hundred pages are hard to get through, but i just read about five or ten pages each day, so that I finished that part in a week and half. The book really was fantastic... i don't want to give anything away, but READ IT!!!!!!!!! It is the BEST book I have ever read!!!!! But you can't skip over the first part, just to get to the exciting part. hahaha. Because then some other parts won't make any sense at all.

Brynne,
i think that you are completely right on giving this novel five out of five.the first hundred pages are a little boring and I almost stopped reading the book because of that but i kept on reading and found it to be very interesting. by the time you finish it it makes you wonder about wether the animals were actually animals or humans.

I thought this was a very good book at the end it sort of confused me because I didnt know if they were animals or people. I didnt think the beggining was boring it was sort of a little explanation of why, when and who.
