My review is on Freak the Mighty - yes, I know I already reviewed it a few weeks ago but I decided to do it again - my last one didn't really say anything about the book heheh - just that I liked it.
Okay, so basically, Freak the Mighty is about a 14 year old kid named Max who has no friends and is picked on by everyone in school. His father, known as "Killer Kane" is in jail.
One summer a guy named Kevin (or Freak as everyone calls him) who is ALSO an outsider, moves in across the street from Max. Freak has some kind of dwarfism disease, so he's really short and has to walk on crutches.
The reason the book is called "Freak the Mighty" is because Max and Freak go to the Fourth of July fireworks, but Freak can't see because he is too short to see over all the people. Max picks Freak up and puts him on his shoulders. From there, they start doing that everyday, becoming Freak the Mighty - the nine foot tall genius. Max is the legs and Freak is the brain. They go around, as Freak says, "slaying dragons and fools and walking high above the world".
Freak loves reading books and doing experiments - Max is an L.D. meaning he isn't very good at reading. Though the two are very different, they become the best of friends.
Freak tells Max about a "special operation" that is being planned in the Special Bionics Unit in the hospital that will, pretty much, give him a robot body so his body will be the same as everyone else. Freak says that he will be the first one to try it (which scares Max).
A lot of stuff happens in between the book, like many of Max and Freak's adventures.
Around Christmas time, Max's dad Killer Kane is on parole - and wants to see Max. Max's grandparents (who Max lives with by the way, because his mom was killed by Killer Kane) won't let him near the house. He breaks into the house in the middle of the night (on Christmas Eve) and kidnaps Max. What happens after that? Read to find out!
Finally, near the end of the book, Freak goes in for his operation to get the robot body - with shocking results. You'll have to read the book to find out!! (Hehe, I love torturing you guys!)
If you like funny, dramatic, action-packed, sad books - you'll LOVE Freak the Mighty. Please read it! And once you're done, leave a review on it on My 2 Cents and tell me what you think!
There's also a movie based on the book. It's called "The Mighty" (they thought Freak the Mighty would be offensive). The movie is also really good!

Hey it is AShley and i love that i can talk about the book Freak the mighty, i am in grade 7 and i just finished reading the book. It was totally awesome and i think that everyboy should thnik of freinds by whats inside but not by there appearacnce.

I am reading the book in class except I already know the sad surprise at the end. I love the book except i wouldn't reccomend it to anyoe under the age of 10.Blade is mean. I was surprised that Max's dad is Killer Kane.Killer Kane killed max's mom right?This book teaches everybody a lesson of friendship.

THIS BOOK IS THE BEST BOOK IVE EVER READ..AND I REALLY DONT LIKE TO READ ALOT..SO I RECAMEND THIS BOOK TO ANYONE..

Man i just read the whole book the ending was pretty sad, after i read it i kind of felt that there was no point to the book.

We just finished this book in LA. A GUY is right, the ending did make the book seem rather pointless... but I guess it means that the book wasn't really about Freak and Max, it was about Max finding his voice as a writer. But still... >.<

I read the first ten pages of the book. After reading all of the comments and many, many book reviews I wish I had read the whole thing. Oh well. I guess I'm supposed to say sorry. IDK.

Hey, this book can be sad at times but this book is action packed and is full of adventure. I read this with my English class and we agreed that this book was awsome! So buy this book and read it!

I thought the book was really good. it was so touching but the movie was weird. it kept going back and forth from the book. but other ways it was good.

i read the book two days ago and i watched the movie but if i was you guys i would suggess to read the bokk because the movie wasnt that great but the story is captivating, exciting and so good !!! 5 stars

As the book progressed, it was really touching and emotional, although when 'Killer Kane,' Max's murderous father kidnapped Max the love started to disappear. I knew that something was going to go wrong, sooner or later. The book ended in tragedy and I cannot believe what happened. I wish that it didn't end that way, but I guess that it is already done. I also wish the Gwen didn't move away. She could have met a man and still lived in the same house. That way, they could all be close together. But you know, everyone must move on.
Cute story though! I really enjoyed it but even though it is just a story, I am still emotional about little Kevin saving big Max, then dying quickly. It is also really sad that he had to make up some lie about his biotic new body structure.
SAD SAD! BUT ALSO GOOD GOOD!
