The Secret World of Og is my favorite cartoon to watch on Saturday mornings. They have trolls and faries in it and it is a funny show. Og is a secret place under some kids bedroom floor and they go to Og to look for their brother who disappeared. Lots of funny things happen in the show.
Comments
I read the original book when I was younger. Originally they are having a tea-party in their play-house in the middle of the woods, and then they leave their baby brother alone. He finds the opening in the floor made previously by an Og creature. He ventures in and they must follow after him to find him to bring him home.
Pretty good book!

We love Secret World of Og, too. We miss it and hope CBC will bring it back! It was great entertainment and a good story about sisters and brothers working together. Mommy remembers reading the book when she was little....100 years ago!

I'm not really a fan of the Secret World of Og...I think it's kind of corny if you know what I mean - though then again, I'm 13 and it IS a kids show.

I previously read the book a few years ago to my little brother due to the insistance of my best friend who declared it one of the best children books ever. I enjoyed it, despite the fact it was a childrens book, and I was then a teenager.
I do, however, think making cartoons out of just about everything is a bit redundant, and repetitive. It was a great book, but no cartoon can compare to its enjoyment level. Shame on you CBC for sullying such a good books name.

All of us in our house love Secret World of Og...and we miss it when it is not on. My son and my mother have read the book together a couple of times and enjoyed it very much. It is a family favourite. Hopefully they will continue to run this show - maybe make some new episodes too!

My daughter stumbled on to your show. She was immediately captivated. After researching the name, Pierre Berton, I realized the book was available. We live in the US and have never heard of this story before. Such a shame. I have since ordered 2 books. . .one for my daughter, and one for her teacher (in hopes to inspire her to share with others for years to come). I would LOVE to see this show viewed more than twice a week here in the US. Looking forward to reading the book with my daughter! ! !

I am reading it at school, and I don't really know if the show is good, but I know the story is good. Some of the other comments say that the show is corny, I think it will be corny too. Any ways I am thirteen and almost fourteen like the other person. So I don't know What do you think?
I do not know if the show is good but trust me, the book is awesome!

I am reading this book now! I am in 5th grade. I have only seen part of the show, but it is probably as good as the book! Why don't you make a game for it? You know, dress up Patsy, or Paul's Journey?

My Uncle gave me this book for Christmas when I was about 10. I loved it as a kid!
I just discoved the cbc kid's cartoon last night... on at 3 A.M. in B.C. not exactly a time when children are watching TV. I caught the first episode and found it engaging, as an adult, but more because reading the book was such a good experience. I loved that so many of the works started with "P" for some reason and also I've never forgotten "Og" for the fantasy and for the word itself.

You should definitely make another season of this show. It's one of the best kids shows that have ever been on CBC! You need more episodes!

I have only watched this show once on a Saturday long ago. In vain, I tried to find the channel again, the show times. Couldn't find it. I got the book from the library, and finally found were it is. Except the show time. I love the book and the show, and want to see more of it. Hopefully it may come out on DVD!

This book is a wonderful piece of Canadian literature. I am reading it to my children for the second time. The television show is a great way to bring the book to life. I hope it will be available to buy on DVD soon and that the TV show continues to air on CBC.
Thank you,
JJ

Did you know that the Canadian Children's Opera Company has produced a children's opera of The Secret World of Og? It's on May 6-9, 2010 at the Enwave Theatre-Harbourfront, Toronto.
